Legally Blonde

Detroit Actors Theatre Company

"When Broadway director Jerry Mitchell cast Laura Bell Bundy as the lead roll of Elle Woods in the Legally Blonde musical, he made one big mistake. Mitchell did not audition recent Oakland University graduate Ashley Rozanski for the role first. Rozanski, who now has her BFA in musical theater, spent the first two weeks in May, leading a star studded cast for a local production of the critically acclaimed musical."

"Rozanski shinned brighter then the brightest star in the sky as she whole heartedly proved hands down that blondes really do have more fun. For two and a half hours, Rozanski made the audience truly believe that she believed that she was indeed Elle Woods."

"The Cross and the Light" – like "Superstar" – integrates the Magdalene plays, and Ashley Rozanski's sweet soprano can turn to rasping sorrow in a heartbeat." "The vocal arrangements are challenging, and it is remarkable to hear such uniform quality."

"The cast, with several notable performers, like Ashley Rozanski, brings theatrical and vocal precision."

-David Kiley, Encore Michigan

"The costumes and the chorus are perfect."

"...Shopping at the mall did not put me in the holiday spirit. That started during the gorgeous pre-show caroling by the ensemble on stage, especially when they sang “Hark The Herald Angels Sing,” and “Joy To The World”  I myself felt a bit transformed by the end of the show."

-David Kiley, Encore Michigan

"If you haven’t seen “A Christmas Carol” at Meadow Brook, you are missing out on a true spectacle; this is theatre magic the way it was meant to be enjoyed...From the pre-show carols, performed by gifted cast members, to gorgeous scenery and startling special effects, to the richly detailed costumes, this show is not to be missed."

-Patty Nolan, Examiner

"The production is a delightful blend of humor, drama, special effects and Christmas festiveness. Supporting scenes, like Fezziwig's party, Christmas dinner at the Cratchits, and Old Joe bartering with several death bed opportunists, are given the same red carpet treatment as the more crucial scenes."

-Daniel Skora, Encore Michigan
